Obama/Democrats are still the best way to ensure financial ruin

by One Sensible Progressive October 11, 2008 The Bluff

A few weeks ago I blogged that voting for Obama would guarantee us a worse recession or full blown depression based on energy policies that care more about environmentalists than the American People. And I still stand behind that statement, even though…

Hurricane Guns?

by LearnAboutGuns.com October 11, 2008 Learn About Guns

Before each of the major hurricanes this year, I’ve seen people arrive at this site after searching for “hurricane gun”, and similar terms.  At first I attributed this to people worried about the wrongful gun confiscation after Hurricane Katrina, but upon further review it seems that was not what people were looking for:
Instead, it seems [...]

Revision’s Desert Locust Goggles

by Murdoc October 11, 2008 Gun Pundit

So I’m checking out the Desert Locust Military Goggle System from Revision Eyewear and my 10-year-old daughter says
“You look like you should have a fake laser thingy.”
“A ‘fake laser thingy’?” I ask.
“Yeah. A fake laser thingy. Like someone in a bad science fiction movie from the 70s.”
At that point I knew we needed a picture:
My [...]

A PERFECT SATURDAY

by Brigid October 11, 2008 Home on the Range

After the Santa Fe inspired Breakfast (previous post) off to my friends at our usual spot at the range. I brought just the P220 today, but had a chance to play with some other toys including a Ruger Mark II 22/45. A very nice shooting 22. There was revolver action and we pretty much shot until our happy fingers had blisters on them.

I tried some tactical practice. Shooting with just one hand

I Was Supposed…

by jr October 11, 2008 A Keyboard and a .45

…to go knocking on doors for Representative Zedler again this morning, but work called with a minor plant emergency. Before my crew was cut in half, I would have had someone there who could have taken care of it. As it is I had to go to work and could not help Rep. Zedler’s campaign this weekend.

So if you are reading this, and you are in District 96, consider this post a personal invitation to get to the polls and vote for Bill Zedler this November.

by SayUncle October 11, 2008 SayUncle

The newest Brady report on weapons that look like assault weapons is full of the same stuff they’ve been peddling for 20 years. Except this time, they quote Jim Zumbo on page 17. No mention, obviously, that Zumbo has recanted.

Quote of the Day – Safer Edition

by Peter October 11, 2008 Firearms and Freedom

Oh yeah, pretty clearly Sarah Palin is a rube who doesn’t know how to handle a gun.  Only LA Times reporters know that.  I’ll tell you, I’d feel a lot safer on a trap field with Sarah Palin than an LA Times reporter. – Sebastian

The Old West Wasn’t Built on Oatmeal

by Brigid October 11, 2008 Home on the Range

In addition a lots o’ laundry, I bought back with me some recipes of the southwest.

For you this morning. Sante Fe Cornbread with Orange Zest Red Chili Butter. The cornbread was awesome, with just a hint of salty smokiness from bacon, the nutty taste of ground cornmeal and a very subtle chili heat from the whipped breakfast butters – orange zest red chili butter (my favorite of the two) and
